About the Author

Bruno A. Boley is a mechanical, civil and aeronautical engineer, with degrees from the City College of New York and Brooklyn Polytechnic University. He was a professor at Ohio State, Columbia and Cornell Universities, and Dean of Engineering at Northwestern University for 15 years, now Emeritus. The author has contributed extensively to the technical and scientific literature and to professional education. He achieved membership in the National Academy of Engineering and numerous other professional medals and awards.
