TECT Aerospace Announces Wurst as V.P. Engineering Solutions

WICHITA, Kan., July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- TECT Aerospace, Inc., a worldwide supplier of flight critical aerospace components and assemblies, has announced Stephen Wurst as its new vice president of engineering solutions.

"Steve's combination of business acumen, Air Force background and history of engineering innovation will help TECT Aerospace advance in crucial areas of our business," said Tim Hassenger, president, TECT Aerospace, Inc. Wurst will oversee a team responsible for the North American commercial, military and defense markets and the entire European market. He will be charged with helping to grow the company in these markets through a more streamlined business development process.

Prior to joining TECT Aerospace, Wurst has served in a variety of military and civilian capacities. Most recently, he worked as an executive consultant on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. Previously, Wurst worked for a variety of other aerospace companies including Rockwell International and ITT Industries, Space Division. He has founded two companies, including Space Access, LLC, which designed and built the world's most fuel efficient high-speed and high-altitude propulsion system, and The Hydrogen Generation, LLC, a hydrogen producer. Before entering the private sector, he served on active duty as a command/instructor fighter pilot in the Air Force. Wurst remained in the Air Force Reserve until 2005, retiring as a lieutenant colonel.

Wurst's academic background in aviation includes his Master of Science in Aeronautics from the California Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy.
